It is intended to turn an existing, old barracks-building into a modern office-complex for the traffic-administration of Styria.The building orients itself to the existing directions, bends, folds, picks up the interplay of widening and opening and strengthens it with an overlapping facade.The construction of a two meter wall, which is typical for that area, fullfills the aspect of a clear definition of the courtyard and retains the spatial quality of the street. The entrance is situated at the corners of the courtyard and the visitor is guided along the facade. During the night, the area can be closed by some sliding gates. By reasons of preservation the classicism-style-building remains its appearence. The new building is stepped down and will be open to the public.
