Design for a visitors-, administration-, science- and documentation-building of the Nationalpark in Mittersill.
The Nationalpark-Centre "Hohe Tauern Errichtungs-und Verwaltungs-GmbH" intends to build a new centre for visitors, research and documentation, as well as the administration, in Mittersill. The building is closed in itself, independent, and free developing. A volumina with an aesthetic appearance, an architectural landscape, an interaction of landscape, body and space. The building orients itself along the given edge of the road, bends, adapts the interaction of wide- and narrowing and intensifies with an overlapping bulge.Along the bent facade, the  visitor is guided to the entry. To the natural surrounding, the building is terraced down towards the level of the park with water-surfaces. These terraces are enabeling better lighting and are also creating differentiated spatial experiences.
The elevated position from the terraces allows a good view into the nature, situated in the north. The perspective of the visitor is changed from the enclosed street-edges, towards the open natural spaces. This impression is underlined by the flowing spatial edges and functional and material definition.
